ONE DAY INTRODUCTION TO SOLUTION FOCUSED APPROACHES
The solution focused approach is a strengths-based method which emphasises the resources that people possess and how these can be applied to a positive change process. It focuses on strengths and `life without the problem' rather than a detailed analysis of problem areas. It is becoming an increasingly popular way of working across a range of contexts and client groups, including school and family settings.
This one-day workshop is aimed at anyone working with children, young people and families.
It will provide useful, practical strategies for early help practitioners including teaching and support staff in schools, home school link workers, family support workers and youth workers.
It introduces participants to simple but effective solution-focused ways of working with children, young people and parents.
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
-
A clear understanding of what solution focused thinking is and how it works
-
Knowledge of some of the basic techniques
-
Experience of using these techniques
-
Confidence to start using these new skills with children and with parents.
