2019 Summer Activities supported by our volunteer Anne
Volunteers play a valuable role within our service and are valued members of the team.
If you feel you can support our projects be it through sharing your skills, experiences as a parent, offering practical support or have an interest in working with children, young people and families, we’d love to hear from you.
We shall provide you with training and supervision as part of your development with us.
Volunteering for Young People
Peer mentor training is offered to our young people, providing them with the skills and tools to support others.
If you would like to discuss volunteering opportunities, please contact Natasha for an informal discussion prior to making an application.
Our youth council meets regularly and gives young people opportunities to voice their opinions and ideas; design and deliver holiday activities and train as peer mentors.
This group also helps us to deliver service improvements as well as develop and shape new models of support.
If you would like to know more please contact Natasha.
2019 celebrated our first Summer Family event giving families the space to connect and have fun!
Parents and carers play a crucial role in representing and advocating for the needs of children, young people and families through consultations, meetings, peer groups and one to one listening services.
These forums provide an essential space for families to be heard.
Learning Space shall be further developing our parent voice giving parents and carers the space to design, deliver, lead and support.
Families have enjoyed connecting with others through our activity days and celebration events.
If you would like to find out more or get involved, please contact Natasha.
“Surround yourself by people who uplift you, you and them will feel happier”
Thomas and his mother Angela raised £300 this year through their Yorkshire Peaks challenge. A very special thank you to them!
Our young people and families have supported a range of fundraising events ranging from cake sales and sponsored walks.
These opportunities give our children, young people and families the opportunity to connect with others, push themselves to try something new and develop skills along the way.
Money raised through fundraising allows us to put on activities and family days throughout the year.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Natasha.
