1:1 Support

The core of the Learning Space method is the belief that we all have resources and skills needed to change and resolve our own difficulties.

We are more interested in exploring solutions than in trying to understand problems and trust that the smallest of changes is all that is needed in order to bring about steps towards further change and progress.

It is important that the children and young people we work with want to take part in Learning Space programmes. We encourage them to set their own objectives and support them to monitor their progress towards these goals. Strategies such as strength cards are used so that children and young people can identify their skills as well as areas for development.  We use creative activities which are adapted to the individual needs of the child or young person.

Our strengths-based interventions help children and young people identify what they are good at and what is working well for them.  These resources can then be used as the launch-pad for their own journeys to become coping, confident young adults.

Our experienced practitioners are from various professional backgrounds: teaching, social work, autism, drama therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, school nursing, youth and community work with family and parent specialisms.

All staff all expert at building trusted relationships and offer bespoke support packages customised to individual needs.

Our work concentrates on finding, building and celebrating successes in children’s lives.
